A Saturday morning found my cousin Jerry Routh working his beehives near my home in Grays Chapel, North Carolina. Jerry keeps bees for honey and also raises queens for sale to other beekeepers. The butterflies have come late this summer. While we have had a few in the yard during the early summer, yesterday afternoon there was an explosion around my wife’s line of Butterfly Bushes. Hundreds of the winged beauties were alive and everywhere.
