I’ve seen photos of cattle egrets in Africa and more tropical areas of the world, but they are now moving into North America where they feed on insects and such stirred up as cattle graze. Apparently this cow in Guilford County, North Carolina isn’t completely familiar with the species yet.
Wheat & Barley Silage
Neighbors Rick, Greg and Michael Williams of Williams Dairy cut spring silage near my home in Grays Chapel, North Carolina. They are cutting a mixture of wheat and barley, chopping it, and putting it in a large trench silo where the grain will pickle and be used for dairy feed.

The old fashioned climbing rose is early and full this year in my back yard in Grays Chapel, North Carolina. My parents always called it “Donna’s Rose” because it bloomed around my late sister’s birthday.
