Model image from workwear job. When you are casting for lifestyle photographs, it’s important to cast models that look natural (and good) in their environment and are comfortable doing things you ask them to do. A simple statement, but it surprising how often models are cast for the wrong job.

Fashion image shot near Greensboro. Thought I would post something from a warmer time, since it hit 12°F this morning, which I know doesn’t sound very cold to our northern friends. Believe me, in North Carolina, that gets our attention.

Out-take of a model from a recent fashion shoot in downtown Greensboro.
At the risk of being redundant in my work, today’s images are again from the old railroad yard in Spencer. There is something about railroads and old equipment that draws my eye. Show me an old train car and rust and I’ll make you an image, as a background in the fashion shot or as a still-life photograph.

Image is a portrait out-take from a studio fashion job. The fashion market in Greensboro is primarily casual wear, so we don’t shoot a lot of haut couture models. Usage was for point of sale.

Photo is from a denim jeans fashion shoot in Wilmington, North Carolina. Wilmington is a good place for a photo shoot, just a few hours from Greensboro. The people are nice and easy to work with. Fresh seafood and the beach nearby. And, the whole town is full of great textures. Love those glass blocks.

Picture of the day is an out-take from a catalog shoot last week. Dogs always seem to show up on my shoots. We never really plan it that way, but seems like the resident canines are usually interested in what we are doing. We normally invite them to join us.
An out-take from last week’s workwear shoot in Greensboro and High Point. We try to put people in realistic situations and in front of realistic backgrounds without jeopardizing safety, safety for our crew and for the actual construction site workers.
Of course, this is what was really going on.
