This photograph should be filed under the heading, “Places I would like to be right now”. Fishing boats sit tied up at the docks in Atlantic, North Carolina, a small coastal fishing village/town between Morehead City and Cedar Island, near the Outer Banks.

This is an image from my files that was shot near the point at Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, one of the best surf fishing spots on the East Coast. Hatteras Light is in the background and this photo shows it in it’s original location. Because of beach erosion, the lighthouse was moved inland to protect it in a massive engineering project.

Shot on Lake Jocassee in South Carolina. This was one of those mornings that you remember as a photographer. There was a light fog hanging over the lake at sunrise. As the sun came over the mountains, the fog lifted slightly, and the light that played on the water was spectacular but subtle. What’s the old saying? “F/11 and be there.” Usage was for an intro shot for an outdoor catalog.
