Women’s Basketball

And now for something completely different. I enjoy shooting sports, but I don’t get as many opportunities as I once did. These photographs are from last weekend’s Women’s ACC tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina.

  1. Sort of depends upon where you are. From the outside corner of the baseline I use an 80-200 on a full frame sensor. To cover the other end of the court, I use a 300 2.8. If I'm under the basket close, I will go with a 28-70. I try to use the fastest lens I can, but with the high ISO capabilities of the newer cameras, (I use a D700), you can jack the speed up pretty high. I think my exposure at the coliseum was about 1/500 at F4 at ISO 1600.
