Jacques and Juliana Busbee created Jugtown in 1917. The tradition they began has been continued and developed by the Owens family, Vernon and Pam, their son Travis and daughter Bayle. I visited on a morning as they were turning new pieces at their pottery in Northern Moore County near Seagrove, North Carolina.

During a recent visit to Jugtown Pottery near Seagrove, North Carolina, I had the opportunity to watch traditional potter Vernon Owens at work at his wheel. Vernon started working at Jugtown in 1960, and he and his wife Pam have owned and run the pottery since 1983 with the help of their son Travis and daughter Bayle.
