Yesterday Grays Chapel Elementary School celebrated its one hundred year anniversary. A community school, my family has been connected with it for three generations. Formally a 1 through 12 union school, my Mom, my Dad, my brother and my sister all graduated there. My father and wife taught there. My Dad was principal there and my two sons and I attended there.

Evergreen Academy in southern Randolph County, North Carolina. A one-room Quaker school. The writing on the “black boards” are left from when the students were last there in the 1920’s.
